I managed to install the XP drivers on Vista with no problems. Maybe the steps I used can be usefull for you.
Point to the directory where you have the unzipped driver files and it should install just fine. Sunday, November 28, I didn’t have to download the XP drivers. After upgrading to Vista Home Premium, my sound did not work.
When my system came back up, my speakers worked with the same version 4. This should tide you over until HP decides vist they finally have time to release the correct drivers. This sound really seems to be the major flaw in vista. I installed the driver that I downloaded.
