It sounds like from the description that there are discrete DACs for each channel, which is something you find on high-end CD players. The differences between DACs is very small. Digital conversion isn’t a hard process per se, it just has to be done correctly.
And you’re right in that DAC chips aren’t only part of the equation. Yeah, that would be fantastic. When in a good implementation it can sound great. Given they’re about the same price, and Arcam is a better known brand, I’d go for the rDac over the DacMagic.
